Fishing pictures

Don't be fooled by the sign. This picture was taken in 2008! I think I am going to write a nasty letter to the person in charge of marketing for this company and tell her to get her act together!

Jesse caught the fish in the middle and it weighed in at 81 pounds! Tricia has some really good pictures on her camera (hint hint) and you can see it is as tall as her! The fish next to Dad is a 40 pound fish! Lots of halibut to take home. (in fact so much halibut to take home that there wasn't room for all the crab they caught so it had to be left behind and was very yummy!)

Sophie is already in love with Crab legs!

King salmon Derby 2008.

On average, a king salmon in Ketchikan costs about 36 rod hours. To catch them you drop your line about 70 feet and then troll (or drive slowly, pulling your bait through the water at a certain depth) at about 2.5 mph. The water was very calm so the boys played some cards during the down time. We only caught a few shakers (kings that were too small to keep) but it was a nice day on the boat and in the sun.

Jesse was the master at pulling crab pots!

How much does that big one on the left weigh? (I'm not talking about the halibut...)
